About us
Back in time
Chateau Teillac is located just outside the tiny village of Puisseguin, near the historic town of Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux. This beloved region has a long history that dates back almost 2000 years. In the 2nd century AD, the Romans already planted vines here. The famous Bordeaux region – Le Bordelais – owes its distinction as the most important AOC wine region in France partly to its rich history and wide variety of high-quality terroirs.
Chateau Teillac dates back to the second half of the 19th century. This French vineyard, which at one point covered over 30 hectares, was owned by the Lejet family for many years. They managed the estate with passion and craftsmanship, which earned the wines an excellent reputation both domestically and internationally.
At Château Teillac, we combine a modern and sustainable approach to winemaking with the ancient terroir of Saint-Emilion, a touch of French joie de vivre, and a generous dose of Dutch pragmatism. This unique combination allows us to produce red premium wines with a local character, catering to an international audience.
Driving along the long driveway lined with lush fruit trees, you will catch sight of the 19th-century country house with its white shutters. This is the Maison de Maître, the heart of our wine estate. The authentic atmosphere is evident, with beautiful tall windows, wooden floors, and romantically decorated rooms that are equipped with all the luxuries.
